What does it look like?
Amphetamine usually comes as a white, grey, yellowish or pinky powder or as putty-like substance known as base or in tablet/capsule form
 

What is it?
Amphetamines are chemically made stimulants.

Street names
Speed, Cranks, Fetta, Whizz, Whites, Sulphate, uppers, billy whizz

Short term effects
Euphoria, increased alertness, excitation, decreased appetite, insomnia, restlessness, blurred vision, fever, headache, irregullar heartbeat, tremors, loss of co ordination, impairs driving ability

Long term effects
Exaggerated short term effects, paranoia, hallucinations, malnutrition, impotence, delusions, psychosis, heart failure, kidney damage, lung problems, death

The Law
Amphetamines are classified as a CLASS B drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act unless prepared for injection when it becomes a CLASS A drug.

Detection
